The European Employment Strategy (EES), launched by the Luxembourg Jobs Summit in November 1997, considers labour market policy as one of the top priorities of the EU Agenda, having the three following overarching goals:

  • Achieve full-employment;
  • Improve quality at work and labour productivity;
  • Strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion.

The European Commission approved the Integrated Guidelines for Growth and Jobs (2005-2008) in order to provide guidance on macroeconomic, microeconomic and employment policies in the Member States in the areas offering the greatest potential for improving growth and employment.

Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini wants to share the results of its research activities, the outcomes of its European projects and the products delivered as member of the European Employment Observatory.

We mainly focus on the following areas:

  • EES impact analysis on women, young people and migrants. [...]
  • Evaluation of governance models on regional disparities. [...]
  • Methodology for gender evaluation of the EES. [...]
  • Regional disparities and flexicurity policies [...]
  • Flexicurity in the Italian Labour Market: evaluation of implemented policy measures [...]
  • Evaluating active aging policies in Italy. [...]

Our aim is to become a source of information for those who are interested in knowing the latest labour market trends, new policy measures adopted at national, regional and local level, the developments of governance models.
